Anesthesia
Procedures done on dogs and cats are challenging for a variety of reasons, one being that they often don’t want to be still while doctors and staff are trying to help the animal. They also have a level of stress that comes from being in an unfamiliar environment. Because of this, the use of anesthesia is a beneficial way to give pets the care they need.

Behavioral Medicine
An interdisciplinary field, behavioral medicine is the combination of both medical treatment and mental or psychological treatment. This approach considers the related nature of biology and behavior. For pets, behavioral medicine can help with anxiety, compulsive behaviors, destructive behaviors, and more.

Blood Transfusions
Blood transfusions have many uses and can be critical, life-saving procedures. Canines and felines, like humans, have blood groups and can be blood typed. A type match for the donor and recipient is ideal but not always necessary for dogs. However, matching the blood type with cats is critical. Cats are different from dogs in that they must be transfused with type-specific blood, either type A, B, or AB. If a cat receives the wrong blood type, it can be life-threatening. Cats require specifications that often lead to them being unqualified to receive a transfusion. Our veterinarians will review other options if that is the case.

Boarding
We understand how hard it can be to leave your precious pets when you go away. However, we want to assure you that we will take care of your pets as if they were our own. Our staff is professional and well trained. We are also all animal lovers. You can trust us while your pets are in our care.

Dental Care
Dental care is often overlooked, though it is very important. Bad dental disease can lead to many health problems, including heart, liver, and kidney disease because it travels through the bloodstream. Even scarier is that the disease affects 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats over the age of three. Still, most pet owners do not realize how important good dental care is. There are many ways to help improve your pets’ dental health. Dogs need their teeth brushed too! Dental chews are also helpful against the disease.

Emergency and Critical Care
We understand how stressful emergencies with your pets can be. That is why it is our goal to help you through these difficult times. We will do everything we can to make your life a little better. Everyone in our hospital, from our front desk staff to our technicians and, of course, our veterinarians, is well-trained to handle the emergencies that may walk through our door. We are proud to be able to offer critical care to those who need it. We also have been known to stop everything and perform emergency surgery when it is necessary.

Microchipping
It’s a terrible feeling to know that your pet is lost and on their own, but it’s an avoidable one. Microchipping pets is the best way to ensure their safe return in the unfortunate event that they become lost. We know your pets are members of your family, and we want to make sure you stay together. We highly advise all pet owners to microchip their pets.

Nutritional Counseling
Obesity is a common problem among pets, as it can be easy to over-feed a pet that knows how to beg. But being overweight is a serious problem for animals, and can cause real health problems as they get older. With proper diet and exercise, all pets should be able to meet their dietary needs and be within a healthy weight range. Pet’s nutritional needs change as they enter different stages of their lives. The best way to make sure your pet’s needs are being met is to consult with us about a diet made specifically for his or her lifestyle.

Pain Management
We have many different choices when it comes to treating a pet’s pain. There are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs which are very helpful with mild pain. We also prescribe steroids which can offer a lot of relief. We also have stronger pain medications if the non-steroidal medications are not enough. We also offer glucosamine in tablets and injections to help with arthritis.

Parasite Prevention and Control
The idea of your pet being infested with parasites is a disturbing thought, but it’s also a medical issue that can have serious consequences if not properly dealt with or prevented. Parasites pose a variety of health issues for our pets, who can be very susceptible to certain parasites depending on age, region, and other factors.

Puppy and Kitten Care
Congratulations! Adding a new puppy or kitten to your family is exciting and will give you many fulfilling years of special companionship. Puppies and kittens come with a lot of responsibility and that’s why we are here to help you care for the new addition to your family.

Rabbits and Small Mammals
We are proud to care for rabbits and other small mammals. We know that caring for these pets requires special knowledge and experience, so rest assured that your loved ones are in good hands. Rabbits and other small mammals make great companions, and we want to be there for you and your pet throughout his or her healthcare experience. These pets require specialized care, and we are thankful to be able to provide your pet with the highest standard of veterinary medicine.

Radiology (X-Rays)
One way we give your pets the best care is with digital radiology. It is quick. We can often see the images seconds after we take the films. It also saves time because we don’t have to repeat films if they are too dark or too light. We can simply change the contrast!

Senior Care
Since pets age faster than we do, it is easy to forget that they can be considered seniors after just seven years. Moreover, as they get older, their health needs change in unique ways that require proper consideration. We will work with you to develop a health plan that is right for the specific needs of your senior pet. Nutrition, exercise and the prevention of common problems through regular exams are all ways to help your senior pet stay healthy.

Surgery
We believe in utilizing the highest level of medical technology, and our surgeons are experienced and highly trained. We also realize that it can be stressful to have your pet undergo surgery. We want to assure you that your pet is in good hands, and that we will do everything to provide the best care possible.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound uses sound waves to offer a non-invasive, painless, and radiation-free method of imaging your pets’ internal organs. Providing this service is one of the many ways that we show how dedicated we are to providing your pet with the best care possible.

Vaccinations
We believe that one of the most important aspects of caring for your pet’s’ health is vaccinating him or her against possible diseases. There are a variety of diseases which affect our pets, and other animals, so proper vaccination is vital to protecting them from many types of illnesses.

Wellness Exams
We believe that regular checkups and wellness exams are critical to your pets’ well-being. These wellness exams give us a chance to evaluate the overall health of your pet while also giving us a baseline for their unique bodies and tendencies. Not only do these exams keep us up-to-date with your pets’ health, but they also allow us to detect potential problems before they become serious. This thorough checkup gives us vital information to help keep your pet healthy!
